Every night my daughters make me to tell a story. I simply create some story, and mostly do not finish it because either they would have slept, or me. Then I thought may be I will some times post some of those stories here. I tell stories in different categories.
Katha(story) : a normal story i would have heard, or read or created
Thaka (yrots ): - i will something which is actually reverse of the actual story. They need to figure the actual story from this
Krikka(crazy story):- a story which is not a conventional one, but crazy
Findit - tell a story with characters different from the original story and kids should find the real story.
Changed - Tell a familiar story but some changes
Amayum Muyalum (Tortoise and Rabbit) - June 7,2008
--------------------------------------------
Once upon a time, there lived a tortoise and Rabbit.
(Moment I tell this my elder daughter will say, she knows it - so I said, I am changing it a little)
They were good friends and used to play ring-a-ringa roses every now and then. Rabbit (Named minnu) will tease the Tortoise )named chinnu), that it cannot go around as fast as her.
One day they were playing this infront of many other animals and minnu teased and complained about chinnu being slow. Hearing this infront of others, made chinnu angry.
Chinnu said "It is only that I cannot go in circle, but I can defeat you in a long running race". Minnu laughed and said "Shall we see?". The mantu monkey and zanthu zebra all supported a race.
So the race started. At the finishing point in the forest, a huge gathering of "kutty" (kid) animals were awaiting the winner.
Minnu and Chinnu started together and as expected Minnu was much ahead of Chinnu in seconds. Minnu saw a jack fruit tree on the way and was very careful, not to take rest under it. It remembered an old story where a rabbit lost the match since it got injured when "chakka" fell on it. It was also careful not to take rest under any other tree, since in an old story a rabbit slept and lost the race.
When it reached the finishing point expecting to win the race, minnu was surprised to see "Chinnu" there receiving the prize. It was extremely surprised and sad.
Come on kids, Can any of you tell what happened?
